A popular salad dressing producer is recalling its products from major retailers like Costco and Publix. Ventura Foods LLC has recalled 3,556 cases of its dressing brands because the products may have “foreign objects,” according to Today.com.
The company also revealed that black plastic planting material may be found in the product. The FDA has categorized the recall as Class II, indicating a small risk of serious health consequences.
As Today.com reported, the FDA stated that the product “may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.”
Which salad dressings were recalled?
The recalled Ventura Food items include the 1-gallon Italian Salad Dressing and 1-gallon Creamy Poblano Avocado Ranch Dressing and Dip. The company also recalled the 2,000-pound Ventura Caesar Dressing, 1-gallon Pepper Mill Regal Caesar Dressing and 1-gallon Pepper Mill Creamy Caesar Dressing. Other recalled items include the Caesar Dressing brands sold at Costco and the 1-gallon Buttermilk Ranch by Hidden Valley.
A spokesperson for the product offered a clarification regarding the Hidden Valley recall: “No Hidden Valley Ranch products sold in stores to consumers are included in the voluntary recall,” they said, according to Today.com. “A professional Hidden Valley Original Buttermilk Ranch Dressing & Dip (one-gallon size), intended solely for food service and that was never distributed, was listed in a voluntary recall initiated by Ventura Foods, a third-party partner that manufactures this product.”
Where were the recalled salad dressings sold?
The Ventura Foods salad dressing items were distributed to seven retail customers in over 25 states. The retailers include Costco and Publix. In a statement released after the recall, Costco advised customers to stop consuming the affected products.
“Costco and Ventura foods are announcing the recall of select Sell By dates of Item# 19927 Caesar Salad and Item# 11444 Chicken Sandwich w/ Caesar Salad due to the possible presence of plastic foreign material in the salad dressing of the items,” the company stated, per Today.com. “Affected products are labeled with Sell By Dates between 10/17/25 and 11/9/25. Please stop eating the product and return the item to your local Costco for a full refund.”
