A 65-year-old man has pleaded guilty to indecently assaulting his then 13-year-old granddaughter in 2018.
A jury had been empanelled in Supreme Court No. 4 last week for the start of the trial on Monday before Justice Laurie-Ann Smith-Bovell.
However, before the trial could get off the ground, the accused man admitted that between September 1 and 30, 2018, he committed the acts.
The jury was directed to return a guilty verdict, followed by Principal State Counsel Joyann Catwell’s reading of the facts. (SD)
