Politics Today! was present when Arab activist Mahmoud Khalil reconnected with his household over the weekend after being released on bail on Friday, putting an end to his more than 100-day confinement in a Louisiana ICE detention. Kalil was detained by federal officials on March 8 at his New York home, and the Trump presidency is attempting to arrest him despite the fact that he is a citizen of the United States and a legal permanent resident. Noor Abdalla, Khalil’s woman, was eight months pregnant at the time of the arrest and gave birth to their child while he was incarcerated. Khalil, who participated prominently in the Palestine solidarity demonstrations at Columbia University last spring, says,” I just want to go back and continue the job I was already doing.” Before leading a protest to the school doors, he addressed more than 1, 000 followers at a march on Sunday. We discuss some of Khalil’s remarks and learn from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a member of Khalil’s legal team, and Democrat Congressmember Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
