The U.S. Supreme Court upheld Tennessee’s ban on transgender youth hormone therapy and puberty blockers in a 6-3 judgement on Wednesday, allowing different states to keep their transgender medical laws in consequence in 24 different states. Over 100, 000 trans people who are under the period of 18 currently reside in states where access to healthcare is prohibited. The first openly trangender counsel to address oral arguments before the Supreme Court and co-director of the LGBTQ & HIV Project of the American Civil Liberties Union, Chase Strangio, states,” This is a struggle that extends back 100 times, and we will keep fighting for 100 more years.”
