February 11, 2026, is shaping up to be a historic night. That’s when RealClear will host its third annual Samizdat Prize Gala at The Breakers in Palm Beach, Florida. The Samizdat Prize is an annual award given to journalists, authors, and public figures who resist censorship and stand for truth. One of those exemplars is the late Charlie Kirk, who was killed in the very act of public discourse.

Charlie dedicated his life to the arduous work of civil debate. In an age of unabated political division, clickbait, and partisan grifting, Charlie remained steadfast in his resolve to change hearts and minds through reasoned dialogue. That he was allegedly murdered by someone who found his views intolerable speaks volumes about what ails our body politic today.
Charlie traveled tirelessly from campus to campus across the U.S. with an eagerness to speak with young people who, on both the left and the right, were falling into a dangerous trap of intolerance for people with opposing views. Throughout his interactions with students, even when some were disrespectful, Charlie maintained that persuasion was a possibility and debated their ideas on the merits.
In addition to honoring Charlie Kirk, RealClear will be honoring Graham Linehan and Alan Dershowitz at this year’s gala in Palm Beach, in what promises to be an inspiring evening.
