In a disturbing escalation of attacks on educational institutions, unidentified armed men have destroyed a government girls’ primary school in Mir Ali in North Waziristan, using explosives.

According to police, the incident occurred in the village of Epi, where the attackers planted explosives inside the school building under the cover of darkness. The explosion completely demolished the structure. Authorities confirmed that the school was closed at the time, preventing any casualties, but the property suffered extensive damage.

The blast has sparked fear among local residents, while police have launched an investigation and are gathering evidence to identify those responsible. This attack comes just three days after another government primary school in Mirali was similarly targeted, putting the education of over 600 students at risk.

A local tribal leader condemned the attacks, stating, “Targeting schools is an attack on the future of the entire nation. The tribal community will never tolerate such elements, and the government must immediately identify the perpetrators.”

The district administration also condemned the incident, assuring that school security measures are being strengthened. “Attacks on educational institutions are unacceptable. Strict action will be taken against those responsible, and additional security arrangements are being implemented to protect schools,” said officials.

Local parents and community leaders have called for the rapid reconstruction of the affected schools to ensure uninterrupted education for children and stressed the need for lasting peace in the region.
