The House Democratic president claimed that the Middle East’s growing fight was” set in motion” by President Donald Trump’s withdrawal from the Iran nuclear agreement.
U.S. Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, D-N.Y., criticized President Donald Trump for his alleged failure to secure legislative support for his strikes in Iran on Saturday and questioned whether the commander-in-chief is “lying” to the American government regarding the scope and alleged achievement of the military operation.
At a press conference on Monday, Jeffries argued that the Constitutional Authority of Congress had the right to declare war. Never long after Iran fired hostile missiles against a Qatari air base, where thousands of American troops are stationed,
Jeffries cited Trump’s earlier claim that he would get diplomacy, no force, and let the Middle East conflict to unfold for two weeks before deciding to involve the U.S. military, and that he had lied to the American people.
The Democratic president of the U.S. House of Representatives continued,” He turned round and launched an attack that does harm further American interaction that may charge us trillions of dollars and thousands of lives if it goes the way of the failed war in Iraq and the problems that we had over a 20-year period of time in Afghanistan.”
Jeffries specifically criticized Trump’s choice in 2018 to draw the United States out of an international deal that previous president Barack Obama brokered with Iran to curtail its nuclear development program in exchange for lifting sanctions against Iran and other nations conducting business with Iran. The Democrat claimed that Trump’s decision to withdraw” set this entire scenario that we’re in right now into action.”

All agreed that Iran was adhering to the agreement, which had its flaws, but was actually working as intended to substantially reduce Iran’s ability to launch and build a nuclear weapons, he said.
” Donald Trump comes into company, and because he’s such a whiner, especially in terms of all things Barack Obama, he pulls out of the deal, even though Donald Trump’s personal supervision, his own national protection apparatus, his own Department of Defense, consistently confirmed that Iran was adhering to the agreement when Barack Obama was president and when Donald Trump was president.”
The president claimed that the U.S. strikes” fully and completely destroyed” Iran’s nuclear program after the Trump administration announced” Operation Midnight Hammer.” However, recent reports suggest Iran may have relocated its uranium enrichment prior to the strikes. Trump officials acknowledge that they are unsure how successful the strikes were, rather claiming that the strikes caused” significant damage.”
Some Democrats have suggested impeached Trump because they defied Congress and put the country’s soldiers and citizens at risk of Persian retribution, including U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y.
Ocasio-Cortez, a liberal member of the Democratic Party, said,” It is completely and clearly grounds for impeachment.”
When questioned about the justifications for prosecution, Jeffries resisted.
The Democratic president claimed that” a tool is currently on the table” to demand that the leadership make a case to the British people why this remarkable move had been taken. Additionally, he backed a proposed bipartisan legislative resolution that had “terminate the use” of American military forces from Iran without the consent of Congress.
Jeffries continued,” This is a dangerous time that we’re in, and we have to get through what’s in front of us,” when asked whether he thought Trump should face prosecution fees.
